Haaa... choo! How annoying being sick is. But it's even more annoying when you can't properly explain what's wrong. After this theme, the children at Language School de Vlieger will at least have less of that problem! From a fall in the schoolyard to an operation in the hospital: all sorts of things pass by.
The theme starts with little accidents. Everyone has hurt themselves, but how do you tell about it in Dutch? We also dive into the first-aid kit to treat each other's ‘wounds’.
But sometimes First Aid for accidents is not enough and you need to see a doctor. In class, we will reenact this. Role plays are a good way to practise the Dutch language.
Besides accidents, illnesses and operations, there is also a focus on various disabilities. Not being able to walk, hear or see properly brings limitations. But fortunately, many things are possible nowadays. The children are introduced to aids for people with disabilities and are allowed to think up their own solutions for children with disabilities.
